MHS Announces a New Clinical Trials Office PDF Print E-mail

MHS is very pleased to announce to our medical community the creation of a new service, the MHS Clinical Trials Office (CTO). The CTO supports the medical research community by facilitating timely and efficient implementation and execution of clinical trials in a research-friendly environment at all MHS inpatient and outpatient facilities. The CTO employs standardized and uniform processes to assist you with the initiation and implementation of clinical trials in a quick and efficient manner. This will help ensure that proper contractual, regulatory, financial and other requirements are met.

WellCare of Texas has updated their plan benefits and co-pays for 2010! PDF Print E-mail

Effective January 1, 2010, WellCare Medicare members will be responsible for co-pay amount(s) for certain diagnostic services performed in an outpatient setting. In some instances, the diagnostic co-pay will be in addition to the facility, or office visit, co-pay. The resources below are meant to help you determine these co-pay responsibilities. Coventry/First Health becomes Medicare Advantage payor Jan. 1 PDF Print E-mail

Methodist Physician Alliance (MPA) is pleased to announce that we have signed a new contract with Coventry Health Care/First Health (FH) to offer their Medicare Advantage PPO plan in the San Antonio market. MPA’s effective date with Coventry/First Health for this Medicare Advantage plan will be January 1, 2010.

Coventry Health Care/First Health offers all of the benefits that the original Medicare plan offers and combines Part A (hospital), Part B (medical) and Part D (prescription drug) coverage into one source of coverage. Additional plan information and provider service details can be obtained through the Coventry Health Care website.

 
MPA and Atlantic Health offer immunization discount program PDF Print E-mail

Methodist Physician Alliance (MPA) has entered into an agreement with Atlantic Health Partners, LLC to offer a discounted group purchasing program for vaccines and medical supplies. Atlantic Health Partners is one of the nation’s leading vendors and offers a program that is very extensive and will provide significant discounts to participating providers.

Atlantic management has collectively over 70 years experience providing practice improvement and vaccine purchasing support services to over 5,000 physicians. Atlantic currently works with over 40 physician organizations including the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Affiliated physicians have been able to more profitably provide vaccines to their patients, which is critical to practice stability considering the growing number of required vaccines.

MPA physicians will benefit from the following:

  • Advantageous pricing for all necessary pediatric, adolescent, adult flu and travel vaccines
  • Favorable purchasing and payment terms allowing better management of inventory and cash flow
  • Will not be required to make large, multiple product orders
  • Orders and delivery directly from vaccine manufacturers such as Sanofi Pasteur and Merck

Vaccine pricing is available upon request and there is no participation fee to MPA members.
